FAQs
Find answers to common questions about the Colorfront Streamer and its application in your workflow.
As remote work becomes more common, editors and post-production teams need tools like Streamer to stay connected and productive from anywhere. Colorfront Streamer allows them to maintain seamless collaboration with team members and clients, regardless of their location. This helps streamline the review process and ensures that everyone is aligned on creative decisions without waiting for file exports or uploads. High-quality streaming enables remote viewers to see the video in reference quality, allowing them to spot any issues with color, brightness, or detail that might not be visible in lower-quality video formats. This is crucial for making accurate assessments during the editing process.

Once the software has been installed and authenticated, one can get a signal to the Streamer with an approved AJA or Blackmagic video IO device. If using a Blackmagic device, one will need to create a SDI or HDMI loop between the In and Out ports on the device. If using an AJA device such as the T-Tap Pro, Colorfront Streamer will automatically pick up the video buffer. In the Streamer settings this will be shown as AJA Peek mode. The Streamer also supports NDI 6 which features 10-bit HDR support.
The Colorfront Streamer is designed specifically for professional post-production environments. It is compatible with most popular NLEs in the market. This includes software like DaVinci Resolve, AVID, Flame and Adobe Premiere Pro. As long as the Streamer can receive a video signal through a compatible AJA or BMD device, it will be able to capture and process the signal.
Different clients or stakeholders might require separate review sessions to accommodate their availability or focus on different aspects of the project. Running multiple streaming servers allows the editor to host concurrent sessions, ensuring each client has a dedicated, tailored experience without overlapping streams. For complex projects involving multiple segments or scenes, each streaming server can handle a specific part, such as color grading on one server and audio mix reviews on another. This helps streamline the feedback process, allowing different team members to focus on their respective areas without waiting for access.
